Green Earth Fest in Deerfield Beach (April 18)

The City of Deerfield Beach is celebrating both  Earth Day and Arbor Day by hosting Green Earth Fest; a citywide celebration on April 18th from noon to 4 PM at Central City Campus, 401 SW 4th Street. Vendors will be on-site to teach attendees everything there is to know about eco-friendly living.

This is a family friendly event for children and adults of all ages! There will be free trees and rain barrels given away for Deerfield Beach residents while supplies last. Compost bins will be available for sale and decorated rain barrels will be up for auction. The event will also feature several home-greening workshops including how to compost and use a rain barrel. The City will also provide free document shredding (two box limit), and Broward County residents can exchange their shower heads for more water-efficient fixtures. Kids can visit a petting zoo, two bounce houses, a craft zone or Team Depot’s kids’ workshop and even get their face painted.

Food trucks will be on site as well as live entertainment by Big Brass Bed and KRUSH. Recycling Perks will also be giving away an iPad Mini to one lucky Perks member! The event is sponsored by Sun Bergeron, Recycling Perks, and Auto Tronics Auto Service.
