The Fort Lauderdale Woman’s Club (FLWC) invites you to participate in their First Annual Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. in Esplanade Park along Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale. This event is a fundraiser benefitting the FLWC, the oldest civic organization in Broward County and holder of the last remaining historic buildings in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
The FLWC and Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale challenge businesses, families, groups, civic organizations, and other clubs to gather their best creative chefs and enter their own prize-winning chili kettle cuisine into the competition. The Chili Cook-Off is an excellent opportunity to create exposure for your business, engage in team-building and show community support.
Winners of the Cook-Off will be determined by popular vote, so we are seeking a whole gang of chili-tasters to gather at this family-friendly event, which also includes craft beer, local bands, food trucks and retail & non-profit vendor booths. Grand prize for best chili recipe will receive a “bragging rights” trophy and $500.00. Trophies and prizes will also be awarded to 2nd and 3rd place winners and “Best-Decorated Competitor Booth,” which will also receive free entry into next year’s competition. We would appreciate your Cook-Off competitor application entry of $95 by January 30.
General event admission is free or $10.00 for those that want to be tasting connoisseurs and cast their vote for the best chili recipe. Tasting begins at 1:00 and winners will be announced at 4:30 p.m.
To enter the Chili Cook-Off competition, reserve vendor booth space or become a sponsor/underwriter of this event, please contact Tracey Samples at tsamplesinc@gmail.com or call 352.504.2388.
