Join us Saturday night as we celebrate Arbor Day with all of your favorite food trucks and a free tree giveaway at Pine Trails Park in Parkland. We will showcase local artists so be sure to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Vocal Trash, a unique band that combines a variety of music and dance forms with recycled/found items such as garbage cans used for instruments, will take to the Parkland Amphitheatre stage in Pine Trails Park Saturday night as part of the City’s Arbor Day celebration which runs from 5:30-9:30. The night will also feature a variety of Food Trucks coordinated by Food Truck Invasion. The City of Parkland Arbor Day celebration precedes Arbor Day, which falls on April 29th this year, and, combined with Parkland’s Earth Day movie night and celebration on April 21st, underscores the City’s emphasis on the environment and the importance of trees. At a City Commission meeting on Wednesday, April 6th the Parkland City Commission proclaimed Saturday, April 9, 2016 as Arbor Day in the City of Parkland. The City has been named a Tree City USA Community by the Arbor Day Foundation for 22 consecutive years.
