20th Annual Art Fest in the Pines (March 10)

The City of Pembroke Pines and ArtServe present the 20th Annual Artfest in the Pines, an amazing two-day art festival, on SaturdayMarch 10, 2018 and Sunday March 11, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at a new location – the Charles F. Dodge City Center, 601 City Center Way in Pembroke Pines.  Jam packed with talented artists, Artfest will showcase unique and fine arts in such mediums as Drawing, Jewelry, Mixed Media, Digital Art, Painting, Fine Handcrafts, Photography, Wood, Glass and three-dimensional sculpture. There will also be fun-filled entertainment, tasty food trucks, live hands-on art demonstrations, a farmer’s market, a live cooking demonstration by Whole Foods Market, a student art competition, a kids art zone, and adult and children workshops at The Frank Art Gallery.

This year’s ArtFest in the Pines is not only jam-packed with talented artists, fun-filled entertainment and tasty food trucks, festival-goers will enjoy live hands-on art demonstrations, a delectable farmer’s market, a student art competition, a kids art and game zone, free art workshops for kids of all ages at The Frank Art Gallery, and so much more.

The Frank Art Gallery, through ArtServe, will offer free art workshops during Artfest.  On Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Artist Chrisian Feneck will hold a “Color and Perception” Abstract Painting Class for teens and adults.  The workshop is free, no prior experience is required and materials are provided.  From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. there will be an “Abstract Angled Patterns” Painting Class with the Arts and Crafts Social Club for all ages. (children must be supervised)  And, on Sunday, March 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Teaching Artist at The Frank Loi Laing will hold a “Painting from Intuition” Acrylic Painting Class for all ages; and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. a Puppet Making class will be held by Master Puppeteer David Goboff for all ages.

ArtFest in the Pines will also offer the best in South Florida live music. Hosted by the dynamic duo, Josh the Man (aka Mr. Handle It) and the incredible DJ Diesel, the main stage promises something for everyone with live performances by Karina Iglesias — who appeared on the national singing contest, “The Voice;” international recording artist and social entrepreneur, Alexander Star; the soulful voice and commanding stage presence of Emily Sheila; the reggae music of Inna Sense, and much more.
