13th Street Festival (Oct. 21)

Sailboat Bend Art Festival has  partnered with the Central City Alliance to take this already amazing event to a whole new level! Not only does this event have a plethora of fun things to do, it is also offering a sneak peak into an area that will soon emerge as Fort Lauderdale’s next arts and cultural district!  Who says? Joshua Tiktin, creator of the SBAF, pioneer of Wynwood, co-founder of the MASS District, and pioneer of Washington DC’s “U St. Corridor”, that’s who!

Activities planned for Saturday, October 21st (3-8pm)

– 5K “Funky Fun Run” register: www.funkyfunrun.org
– Live music on the city’s mobile stage unit
– Food trucks
– Tent vendors/shopping
– Live artists and “throwing” on the pottery wheel
– Pet parade
– Alcohol bar
– Costume contests
– Bounce houses
– Pony rides
– Ribbon cutting with the Mayor
– Face painting
– Tour of the district

3pm – Annual Funky Run 5k from Middle River Terrace Park

4pm – RIbbon Cutting Ceremony at Old Dixie Hwy and NE 13th Street

5pm – Street Festival with live music, art, food vendors, and family activities

7:30pm – Beacon Lighting Ceremony at Old Dixie Hwy and NE 13th Street


Sailboat Bend is located just north of Sunrise Blvd/MASS District, and Home Depot. The popular coffee shop, “Warsaw” is located right here on 13th!  The festival takes place between NE 6th Ave. and NE 8th Ave.
